Why this campus can move faster.

Across Europe, large grid connections now take years, and some markets have paused new data centres. This campus brings its own power, so its timeline follows its own build, not a grid queue.

Time to power

No wait for a grid connection: twelve engines in three energy centres, 275 MWe installed and 229 MWe firm with two in reserve.

Several energy sources

Pipeline gas, 12 hours of stored liquid fuel, a 200 MWh battery, sun and wind. No single point of dependence.

Grows in modules

Six data centre buildings, energy centres and a capture plant that grows module by module, so capacity follows demand.

Cleaner over time

The same engines can run on certified biomethane, more sun, wind and storage can be added, capture is designed in, and the design is benchmarked to BREEAM Outstanding.

Why it exists

Grid access is the main constraint on large data centres. So this campus has been designed around its own energy from the first sketch.

Instead of waiting for a connection, generates, stores, cools and measures everything on one site. Every system was engineered to work with every other one.

01 · GENERATE

Twelve engines. Ten at work, two on standby.

Pipeline gas feeds three enclosed energy centres. Their engines add up to 275 MWe installed. With two always in reserve, 229 MWe is firm, more than the 210 MWe the campus needs at its peak. If the gas stops, they switch to liquid fuel stored for 12 hours.

02 · STABILISE

A 200 MWh battery smooths every spike.

Server loads change in milliseconds. The battery steadies the microgrid and bridges the minutes while a reserve engine starts.

03 · COOL

Natural CO₂, rejected dry.

The cooling plant uses CO₂ as its refrigerant and releases heat to the air without evaporating water. Liquid cooling can reach AI-density racks.

04 · CAPTURE AND REUSE

Exhaust heat drives the capture.

Heat recovered from the exhaust drives a capture plant that takes CO₂ from part of the exhaust, liquefies it and ships it for reuse. The preliminary target is about 20,000 tonnes a year in stage one.

05 · MEASURE

One control room sees it all.

Energy, buildings, plant and IT report to one 24/7 operations centre, which tracks efficiency, water and every tonne of CO₂.

Inside a building

Five data halls.
Three floors.
25 MW.

Each of the six buildings is about 100 metres long. Five 5 MW halls sit over three levels, with the CO₂ cooling plant on the ground floor and heat-rejection equipment on the roof.

Where we are

Designed and studied. Permits ahead.

The pre-executive technical report is complete and professionally stamped, which is a formal check, not an approval. The council has found the use compatible with the industrial zoning. The environmental authorisation and the licences are still ahead, and construction follows them.
